| David Holland knows the
extremes that life can offer. For four years, David was an Army Ranger in Special
Operations, posted in dangerous locations. Upon his return to civilian life,
David became addicted to a life of chemical dependency, leaving in his wake his
schooling, family and former friends. “When I reached rock bottom,” David
confesses, “I begged that they accept me. I know I couldn’t have lived like
that much longer.” After seven months in
residential recovery, David credits the staff of Volunteers of America for
supporting and encouraging him in his steps toward recovery. “Volunteers of America saved
my physical and spiritual life,” he emotionally offers. After starting a
part-time job within the VA Medical Center where he lives, David is completing
his university education. |
